ALMAPLAST combines advanced coating techniques with thorough pretreatment to optimally paint metal parts and protect them against wear, corrosion, and external influences. In this way, we achieve durable and high-quality coatings for various sectors, from industry and construction to transport and medical equipment.
A high-quality finish starts with thorough pretreatment. This encompasses all processes that take place before the actual coating process.
>Powder coating provides a durable, smooth finish for metal parts with excellent protection against corrosion and wear.
>Wet painting offers a flexible finishing technique for complex shapes and specific color or gloss requirements in industrial applications.
>Plasticizing (or fluidized bed sintering) creates a strong, protective coating layer that gives metal parts extra resistance to impact and environmental influences.
>Powder coating — also known as powder spraying — is a technique in which an electrostatically charged powder is applied to a metal surface. Subsequently, the part is heated in an oven (curing), causing the powder to melt and harden into a strong and durable coating.
This coating forms a high-quality protective layer that not only gives the surface a well-groomed appearance but also protects against corrosion and wear.
Thanks to the combination of durability, quality, and aesthetics, powder coating is gaining increasing popularity as an alternative to traditional wet paint systems.
Wet painting is a versatile painting technique in which a liquid coating is applied to the surface using a spray gun. Thanks to its wide applicability and the ability to work with thin coats, this method is particularly suitable for a wide range of materials and complex shapes. Multi-layer systems are often used, where each layer fulfils a specific function, such as adhesion, protection or finishing. Such systems are applied when high demands are placed on aesthetics and corrosion resistance.
ALMAPLAST has multiple manual wet paint booths for both water-based and solvent-based applications. With these, parts up to a maximum of 4500 x 2000 x 1000 mm can be treated.
In addition to decorative finishes, ALMAPLAST also applies various functional coatings, including EMC shielding, electrically insulating coatings and heat-resistant systems.
For applications where wear resistance, corrosion protection, and a smooth finish are paramount, fluidized bed sintering—also known as dip coating or plasticizing—offers a durable and efficient solution.
In this process, the metal part is first preheated and then immersed in a bath of fine plastic powder. Due to the heat, the thermoplastic powder immediately melts on the surface and, after curing, forms a closed, smooth, and protective coating.
With this technique, ALMAPLAST achieves coating thicknesses from 200 µm to more than 800 µm, depending on the application and the required protection.
