ALMAPLAST NV is the only job coater or contract painter in Belgium specialising in powder coating, plastic coating and wet painting. Our facility, featuring a modern 5,900 m² production hall, is centrally located in Kontich, on the Antwerp – Brussels axis.
ALMAPLAST's customer base spans a wide range of economic sectors: the automotive industry, aviation, public transport, construction, medical and pharmaceutical equipment, the furniture industry, waterworks, etc. Over the past decades, the company has acquired the necessary expertise in surface treatment and, as a flexible SME, can handle orders of 100,000 units as well as small series of 10 units. Quality – with an eye for detail – always comes first and is guaranteed by state-of-the-art machinery for both pretreatment and coating. ALMAPLAST is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
ALMAPLAST was founded in 1959 and started in Schoten with only one worker on staff. In the early 1970s, Mr. Louis Clymans took over the helm of the firm, and ALMAPLAST soon had to expand for the first time. In 1974, it established itself on the Mechelsesteenweg in Kontich, where it had a built-up area of 3,000 m² at its disposal.
Over the years, the company has developed into a specialist in the surface treatment of metals. Moreover, since 1993, the company has complied with strict ISO standards, further underscoring its focus on quality and continuous improvement.
In early 2000, ALMAPLAST moved to its current location on the “Blauwesteen” industrial estate in Kontich. In mid-2005, Niko Hendrickx was appointed General Manager, after which the company further expanded its wet painting activities in 2010 and put two new spray booths, suitable for both water-based and solvent-based paint systems, into operation. The powder coating department also continued to develop. Consequently, in 2017, the automated powder coating installation was equipped with a new power-and-free chain conveyor and the existing spray booth was replaced.
In 2018, a management buy-out took place. Niko Hendrickx and Christophe Deprez jointly acquired the company and continued the further development of ALMAPLAST.
